Walt Maclay, President
Walt Maclay, an electronics and software engineer for over 30 years, is the founder and President of Strawberry Tree Inc, a consulting services firm with special expertise in interfacing sensors to systems. A member of PATCA since 1999, he served on the new member committee before joining the board. Maclay designs analog and digital circuits for data acquisition, PC interfaces, sensor signal conditioning, factory automation and control, and analog semiconductors. He also programs applications in Visual Basic and assembly language.
Jerry W. Rice, Vice President
 David Eimerl,
Ph.D., Treasurer
David Eimerl provides consulting services in
lasers and applications of light, specialized scientific
software, and in protection of intellectual property. He
provides top level planning for new projects, as well as
helping clients solve technical problems with products. He
has assisted clients in such diverse fields as laser medicine
and dermatology, wafer processing, biotechnology, optical
instrumentation, and systems development. Eimerl has been
active as a consultant since 1992, and is now actively focusing
full-time on growing his consulting practice. He has recently
become a full member of PATCA and serves as the internet
liaison on the Board of Directors. Eimerl is a former Chief
Scientist at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory,
and also serves on the Board of Reliant Technologies.

Board Members

Carl A. Angotti
Carl Angotti, the President of Angotti Product Development, has more than 30 years of experience in electronics engineering and product development, and provides effective project
leadership and coordination for his clients. He holds an MBA from San Jose State University, an MSEE from the University of Southern California and a BSEE from Carnegie-Mellon University. Angotti, a
Past President and 30-year PATCA member, is also a member of the IEEE, IEEE Engineering Managemnt Society, IEEE Consultants Network, the Technology Alliance Bridge (TAB), the Project Management
Institute (PMI Northern CA) and is a California Registered Professional Electrical Engineer #10235.
Ronald S. Bader
Ron Bader has been a full time Engineering Consultant
since 1981 specializing in the fields of Interdisciplinary
Systems Engineering and Electronics product development.
Bader is a Senior Member of PATCA who joined in 1982. He
has been serving in his present capacity as a
Director since 2003. Bader served
as founding President of the Silicon Valley Chapter
for two terms from 1985-87, and as a Director of the
chapter till 1990. He served in 1988, 1994-96 and 1998
as National Vice President, as President for two terms
from 1989-91, and as a Director in 2001-02. Bader chaired
the Ethics Committee from 1984-87, the Referrals Committee
in 1988, and served on the Legislative Monitoring Committee
from 1991-1993. Over the years he has also served as
Board Liaison to the Referrals, Ethics, Government Affairs,
and the Rate Survey committees, as PATCA's representative
on the Computer Software Industry Association (CSIA)
Board of Directors, and one of PATCA's two representatives
on the Affiliation of Professional Consulting Organizations
(APCO) Board of Governors.
Henry George Berkley
Henry George Berkley is serving
his second term on the Board, after previously serving four years.
He is actively involved in strategic planning and managing the program
committee, and served six years as Program Chair. Berkley has been consulting for over 20 years specializing in developing
and designing ASICs and Integrated Circuits. He was one of
the first students in the country to take Carver Mead's VLSI
design course at Caltech (BSEE 1979). Berkley, known as the ASIC Wizard, turns product ideas
into silicon. He has silicon on the Navy F14C/D fighter jet, and his wireless
ASICs radio the readings of Philadelphia's electric and gas
meters back to the power company on a micro-cellular network
using his mixed-signal SOCs and complex DSP transceiver
ASICs.
Suraiya Z. Ahmed
Suraiya Z. Ahmed, President of Spectrum Insights, is serving her first term on the PATCA board. Founded in 2006, Spectrum Insights is a consulting firm specializing in performance development services for small business and start-up companies. Ahmed assist clients in developing results-oriented teams, strategic goal planning, and process development. She holds bachelor's degrees in business and law with an emphasis in computer applications, and is currently studying for an MBA from Kansas University.
Executive Director
Tonia Forbus
As PATCA's Executive Director, Tonia Forbus provides all aspects of member and client services. Tonia delivers a full range of
financial and organizational services, and is responsible for implementing the strategic plans set by the Board of Directors. She brings talent and
know-how gained from across-the-board experience in the corporate, non-profit, and professional services sectors. Tonia specializes in office
administration, business systems development, program and project management, and event planning.
