VHF/UHF/microwave antennas; pattern measurement. 100 MHz to 6.4 GHz. Breadboard and prototype antenna design and development. Small antennas my specialty. Also EMI field measurements/redesign, propagation studies. Satellite earth station design and link budgets. Satellite hardware design.

I have many years' experience in designing antennas for spacecraft (basically array-fed dishes), and also many years' consulting experience in designing antennas for various specialty items such as hand-held devices, WWV receivers, wireless computer modems, hospital patient monitors, RFID tags, grocery cart security systems, liquid level detecting systems, surveying instruments.
I typically learn the customer's needs, then set out to develop a working prototype of an antenna design that I think will satisfy the needs. I build a prototype, test it for impedance and patterns (if desired) over the frequency range of interest, and report to the customer the results of my tests. this has proven very successful, and I have over 65 clients spanning over 20 years of consulting, much of it part-time as I worked a full-time job. clients include Applied Materials, Westinghouse Electric, Avantek, and Trimble Navigation.
